After 8 months of dedicated practice, I'm thrilled to announce that I'm on the verge of bringing my first picture book to life. This journey has been nothing short of magical. The story flowed effortlessly, long before my first sketch took form. However, illustrating proved to be a different challenge altogether.
As a novice in picture book illustration, I've embraced the process with open arms, allowing myself the freedom to explore and, inevitably, stumble along the way. Though admittedly, there have been moments of discouragement, I've learned to persevere. Each day, I sit at my desk, refining my characters and their world, guided by an instinctual sense of what feels right, trusting that it will lead me in the right direction.
In my pursuit, I've held onto certain words and phrases—charming, creative, warm—as guiding ideas to keep me focused. I'm driven by the desire to evoke a specific experience for my readers, and I'm committed to capturing that essence within the pages of my book.
Eight months into this journey, I find myself at the dawn of a new chapter, filled with anticipation and excitement. As I continue to build upon this foundation, I can't help but be filled with a sense of wonder and possibility for what lies ahead.
